2012 Symposium on Advanced Intelligent Systems

Monday, December 10, 2012

The 2012 Symposium on Advanced Intelligent Systems will be held on the December 10th, 2012, at the Faculty of Engineering, University of Waterloo, Waterloo Ontario, Canada. The symposium is organized by the University of Waterloo Centre of Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence (CPAMI). CPAMI is a centre of excellence in the field of Pattern Analysis and Machine Intelligence. The symposium is intended to provide a forum for the exchange of information on state-of-the-art research in the areas of autonomous and intelligent systems. Keynote lectures and poster sessions will be held over the two-day period of the symposium. Read More

2nd Annual NSERC DIVA Workshop

Thursday August 30, 2012 and Friday August 31, 2012

This Workshop aims to provide DIVA research members and its private and public sector partners with a venue to interact with each other, disseminate and share state-of-the-art research on vehicular networks, intelligent transportation systems and wireless mobile ad hoc networking. Following the success of the first NSERC-DIVA workshop that was held last year in September 9th, 2011, this year, the workshop was extended to a 2 days event, where we are allocating more time to our graduate student researchers to give both oral and poster presentations. In addition, there will be three awards this year: Student Paper Award, Best Student Poster Award and Best Student Presentation Award. A committee will be formed to select the winners, and the announcement will be made during the workshop. Read More

IEEE ICC 2012 Workshop on Intelligent Vehicular Networking

Monday, June 11, 2012

Research, standards and industrial activity concerning short-range V2V (vehicle-to-vehicle) and V2I (vehicle-to-infrastructure) communications has grown rapidly in recent years. Although the most important applications of V2V/V2I communications are for improving road safety, numerous additional applications are envisioned, including broadcast of information on construction, traffic congestion, and accidents, local vehicular ad hoc network communication and relaying of messages for emergency message dissemination, and even “infotainment” applications. Well-planned V2V/V2I communications can also contribute to “green” transportation systems. The IEEE ICC 2012 Workshop on Intelligent Vehicular Networking is a must-attend event for anyone with an interest in recent developments in vehicular networks. Four invited presentations, three sessions with eleven peer-reviewed papers from leading researchers in Asia, Europe, North America and South America, and a panel and open discussion session combine to yield an exciting and intensive experience.
